Owner and Contact
The Lares app available at app.lares.talk is operated by Paolo Tanzi (VAT no. IT 02611230349), with registered office at Strada Gossella 16, 43029 Traversetolo (Parma), Italy.

The Service
Lares is an interactive cultural guide platform that allows users to converse with animated regional characters, receive GPS-based contextual information about nearby sites, and access localised historical and cultural content.
The service is accessible via browser at app.lares.talk, with no installation required.
Account and Access
The demo requires only an email address via magic-link — no permanent account is created.
To access the full service, registration is required by providing a valid email address. The user is responsible for keeping their login credentials confidential.
The owner reserves the right to suspend or close an account in the event of a breach of these terms.
Minors
The minimum age to use the app and to register on one's own is 14 years (Art. 8 GDPR; Art. 2-quinquies of the Italian Privacy Code).
Children under 14 may use the app only with the consent and under the supervision of a holder of parental responsibility, who accepts these terms on their behalf.
Location (GPS) features require consent that cannot be validly given by a minor under 14; for such users it requires the consent of a holder of parental responsibility.
Where the app is used at a kiosk or fixed installation, minors should use it under adult supervision.
Free Demo
The free demo requires only an email address via magic-link (no permanent account and no credit purchase), for a limited number of interactions.
The demo is fully featured and requires no payment details.
The owner reserves the right to modify the demo limits at any time.
Credits and Payments
Use of the service beyond the free demo requires the purchase of credit packages. Each conversation consumes a number of credits proportional to its length and complexity.
Credits are personal, non-transferable and non-refundable, except as required by applicable consumer protection law.
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. (USA), which may offer various payment methods (card, PayPal and others). The owner does not store the user's card details.
Credit package prices are displayed in the app at the time of purchase and may be updated with 30 days' notice to registered users.
Right of Withdrawal
Consumer users have the right to withdraw from a credit purchase within 14 days of the transaction (Art. 52 et seq. of the Italian Consumer Code, Legislative Decree 206/2005).
By completing the purchase and starting to use the credits, the consumer expressly requests that performance begin immediately and acknowledges that the right of withdrawal is lost in respect of the credits actually consumed (Art. 59(1)(o) of the Consumer Code).
Where the consumer withdraws within the 14-day period, any credits not yet used are refunded; credits already consumed are not refundable, in proportion to the part of the service already performed.
To exercise the right of withdrawal: privacy@lightweb.it
GPS Functionality
The app uses the device's geographic location to provide contextual suggestions. Enabling GPS is optional and off by default: the service remains fully usable without location access, with reduced contextual functionality.
To suggest nearby points of interest, your approximate location is sent to a third-party maps provider (OpenStreetMap or, where configured, Google Places). Map and point-of-interest data is provided by such third parties; the owner does not guarantee its completeness, accuracy or availability.
The processing of location data is described in the app's Privacy Policy.
AI-Generated Content
Responses from Lares characters are generated by artificial intelligence models and are informational and narrative in nature. The owner does not guarantee the absolute historical accuracy of every generated response.
Generated content does not constitute professional advice of any kind.
Users should not rely solely on information provided by the app for consequential decisions (e.g. official opening hours, prices, accessibility).
It is prohibited to use the service to generate offensive, unlawful or third-party rights-infringing content through intentionally manipulative inputs.
Intellectual Property
The software, characters, voices, animations, texts and all elements of the Lares platform are the exclusive property of the owner.
The user receives a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the service in accordance with the terms described in this document.
Reproduction, distribution, reverse engineering or commercial use of any element of the platform without the owner's written authorisation is prohibited.
Limitation of Liability
The service is provided 'as is'. The owner does not guarantee continuous availability of the service or the absence of interruptions.
The owner is not liable for direct or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the service, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
The owner's total liability towards the user for any cause shall not in any case exceed the amount paid by the user for credits purchased and unused at the date of the event.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory Italian consumer law; the user's mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Account Suspension and Closure
The user may close their account at any time by writing to privacy@lightweb.it. Remaining credits are non-refundable except as provided by withdrawal rights.
The owner may suspend or close an account in the event of a breach of these terms, with notice except in cases of serious breach.
Changes to the Service and These Terms
The owner reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the service or any part of it at any time, with reasonable notice to registered users.
Changes to these terms will be communicated by email to registered users at least 30 days before taking effect. If a user does not accept the new terms, they may terminate their use of the service and request a refund of any unused credits before the changes take effect.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law.
For consumer users, the mandatory provisions of applicable consumer protection legislation shall apply.
Any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Court of Parma, Italy, without prejudice to the consumer's right to bring proceedings before the courts of their place of domicile where required by law.
